robert walters is a leading professional recruitment consultancy with 38 offices spanning 18 countries. They place candidates in numerous sectors including: accountancy, banking and finance, legal, information technology, sales and marketing, and human resources. To reflect their business promise, images depicting sun rays hitting the sea were used to represent shining opportunities and a bright future. To give a polished finish, we set dark blue typography against a white background.

washington apple is a popular brand among consumers the world over. Varieties include: Red Delicious, Fuji, Golden Delicious, Gala and Honey Crisp. As the American apple company turned its attention to Singapore and Malaysia, we stepped in to help them jazz up their advertising and promotions. To inject a premium edge to the brand, we changed the white apple trays to black. We added a sleeve to the packaging to enhance its appearance and, at the same time, introduce the other Washington Apple varieties to consumers.

roche is a research-focused healthcare company which develops and provides innovative diagnostic and therapeutic products and services for patients and medical professionals. Roche provides holistic solutions from early detection and prevention of diseases, to diagnosis, treatment and monitoring. We utilised complementary colours of blue and orange to make their brochure more eye-catching. Blue gave Roche a more authoritative feel, while orange was used to convey a refreshing, healthy lifestyle. The white background and a clean, uncluttered look and exuded an overall professional feel.

brochure design: DSM is an international raw materials supplier. Its products and services are widely used in various markets, such as: pharmaceuticals, automotive, electrical and electronics, and paint. For the marketing of DSM’s new shampoo ingredient, we used a Swiss army knife to illustrate the product’s multi-functional characteristics. The unique illustration served to make the brochure more eye-catching.

leaflet design: evian is part of the Danone Group, Evian is one of the leading brands of premium mineral water. Evian is synonymous with class, style and purity – so we maintained these distinguishing elements when conceptualising their brochure design. We blended Singapore’s favourite icons, such as the Merlion and Esplanade, into a cool, blue background. Without compromising the typical feel of an Evian collateral, we achieved a localised finish for their Singapore brochures.

brochure design: plaschem is an established speciality chemical manufacturer. Some of their customers include printed circuit board manufacturers, and semi-conductor and metal finishing companies. To give PlasChem a credible, professional image, we adopted a Westernised look for their brochures. Visuals were simple and uncluttered but stylish. Rich, navy blue was used as the main colour, to signify knowledge and authority.

print design: health promotion board is the nation’s main driver for health promotion and disease prevention programmes. For the No Smoking Campaign, we conceptualised a pocket-style leaflet – instead of the usual brochure – to give it a fun, hip look. For HPB’s SPARK (Sports, Play and Active Recreation for Kids) campaign, we designed a weight manual with child-like drawings of kids at play printed on the cover. We also put together a brochure on dietary guidelines for adults. Green was used as the main colour, with clean visuals of healthy food, to drive home the message of healthy eating and living.

poster design: joy bite is a Japanese brand of confectionary. In designing their collateral, we used brown shades for the background to represent their signature chocolate snacks. We created cute cartoon-like characters with a speech.

calendar design: NUS The Centre for Remote Imaging, Sensing and Processing (CRISP) is a research centre of the National University of Singapore (NUS). They turned to us for the design of a corporate calendar to be handed out to their business associates. We used NUS’ corporate colours – white, orange, and blue – as the dominant colour scheme. Every month of the year displayed different, sharp satellite images. The result: an attractive calendar for CRISP which symbolised innovation and professionalism.
